NYFL Cheer Competition Routines

Our athletes showcase their skills in two distinct routines modeled after the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) competitive cheer format.

Round 2 – Skill & Technique
•    Focus: Motions, jumps, flexibility, and precision.
•    What You’ll See: Sharp arm placements, synchronized movements, and jumps performed to a set eight-count cadence with no music.
•    Mini Cheer: Shorter, simplified sequences perfect for our younger athletes while still emphasizing timing and clean technique.
•    Mega Cheer: Longer sequences with advanced transitions and more intricate arm levels, reflecting the higher skill level of our older athletes.

Round 3 – Full Routine with Music
•    Focus: Showmanship and team performance.
•    What You’ll See: A fully choreographed routine set to music that combines cheer, dance, tumbling, and stunts.
•    Mini Cheer: High-energy motions and beginner-friendly stunts that highlight enthusiasm and teamwork.
•    Mega Cheer: Dynamic choreography with stronger tumbling passes, elevated stunts, and advanced dance elements to wow the crowd.

Both levels are judged on synchronization, difficulty, execution, and crowd appeal, mirroring the MHSAA standards used in middle- and high-school competition.

MINI CHEER – October 12th at Lake Orion
OPEN CHEER – October 26th at Memphis (CANCELLED)
MEGA CHEER – November 2nd at Clarkston
